Are the job opportunities limited with the one above for Industrial Engineering graduates? Of course not. If you say I want to raise my skills and my main goal is to become a higher ranking manager, you are really lucky since you graduated from the Industrial Engineering department. Because when we look at statistics, many general managers, CEOs and higher ranking officials come from this department.

However there is a key point where you should be aware of. It is very unlikely to become a CEO with only becoming an engineer. You have to work in different departments and have to gain a lot of experience. For example, after working as an industrial engineer for a while you can change your department to sales management and then to strategy department or job development department. This shows that you can work in every field as a talented engineer and you become an ideal engineer for team management. At first you can start with the management of a small team then that team can be upgraded to a larger team and then you can be promoted to a  job to manage people who govern other teams and finally you can be raised to company management.

In this writing we approached Industrial Engineering with a larger perspective. In this series we are planning to analyse job positions that we told above. If you are a candidate to become an Industrial Engineer and you are confused about the job positions or just interested in this field please be patient for our next writings. See you in our next writing…
